A Warm Welcome
From our Headteacher
We are extremely proud of our children at Co-op Academy Smithies Moor.
I am absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Co-op Academy Smithies Moor. It has been a genuine pleasure to meet the children, staff, and wider community. The energy, warmth, and commitment I have already seen, tells me that this is a truly special place to learn and work. At Co-op Academy Smithies Moor, everything we do is rooted in the Co-op Ways of Being: Be yourself, always; Do What Matters Most; Show You Care; and Succeed Together. These values will continue to be the foundation upon which we build success for every single child. Our Vision for the Future My commitment is to ensure the academy is a place where: Every student feels valued and safe, allowing them to thrive both academically and personally. We maintain high standards and expectations in all aspects of academy life. We foster a truly cooperative and ambitious learning environment where potential is unlocked and celebrated. I am looking forward to working collaboratively with all of you - our students, dedicated staff, parents, and community partners - to build an exciting and successful future for Co-op Academy Smithies Moor.
In March our Student Council took part in a litter pick as part of the Great British Spring Clean 2025.

The personal development of pupils is of the utmost importance to the school. Their ‘ways of being Co-op’ align with the trust and co-operative values. The school is committed to developing an inclusive environment that celebrates difference.
Pupils achieve well, particularly at the end of key stage 2.
The school raises pupils’ aspirations of the careers they can follow in the future. Pupils have the opportunity to meet a range of professionals and ask them about their roles.
