I'm Fay Bowman, I am the Academy community pioneer for Co-op Academy Smithies Moor.

I believe that an Academy Community Pioneer is someone who acts as a link between the Academy and the wider local community. The role allows me to get more involved in our local area, making links with local charities, businesses and other organisations. My aim is to help improve the well being of our young people and their families.

Ultimately, we want our young people to leave the academy as happy, healthy and well rounded individuals. My aim is to help the academy to raise funds and bring to life all the wonderful ideas of how they want the academy to support its children and families in the community.

I look forward to working closely with everyone!
